FOUNDING BUSINESS PROGRAM
A practical first website. A clear agreement from the start.
The Free Website Team Founding Business Program offers selected small businesses a professional website at no design or build cost. You provide the content, give feedback, and pay for your domain and hosting. Applications are reviewed weekly. Reviews, referrals, and permission to publish a case study are optional—not conditions of the free website.
Apply for a Free WebsiteIs this a useful fit for your business?
This program is for a focused service website: explain the work you do, the area you cover, who is behind the business, and how a prospective customer can enquire. It can suit a business with no website or one whose current website no longer explains the service clearly.
You should be able to supply accurate business information and usable content, review the proposed site, and cover domain and hosting costs. The standard offer does not include ecommerce, custom portals, professional copywriting, logo design, or ongoing updates. Applying does not guarantee selection.
What you receive—and what remains yours to handle.
The accepted standard build includes up to five core pages, responsive design, a contact or quote-request form, basic on-page SEO, social links, one revision round, and launch assistance. We agree on the pages and scope before building.
You own the finished website. Keep your domain and hosting in accounts you control and understand their renewal terms. Third-party tools and assets retain their own licenses. Ongoing maintenance or additional work is arranged separately; an ongoing The Free Website Team service contract is not required.
How selection and launch work.
Tell us about your business, current website, requested pages, content readiness, and desired timing. We review applications weekly against the standard scope and current availability. The Free Website Team works online only: content handoff, collaboration, and website review happen remotely.
If selected, we contact you to confirm the content, scope, domain and hosting arrangements, and next steps. The schedule is agreed before work begins. A desired date in your application is a planning preference, not a guaranteed launch date.
An honest relationship after launch.
We may ask for honest feedback about the experience. You can decline a review request, a referral request, or a request to feature your project without changing the agreed free-build offer. We do not ask for a particular rating or provide suggested review wording.
A future case study will use real work, approved details, and evidence for any reported result. Until those projects can be published, our fictional previews remain clearly labeled Concept example. This program does not add unapproved rewards or obligations to the standard free-build offer.
Before you apply.
A few straightforward answers.
Is this a different paid package?
No. It uses The Free Website Team’s standard free design-and-build scope for accepted applicants. Your business pays domain and hosting costs. Any optional work outside that scope would need a separate agreement.
Do I need to leave a review or refer someone?
No. Reviews and referrals are completely optional. The free website is never conditioned on a review, a rating, a referral, or agreeing to a case study.
How are applications reviewed?
Applications are reviewed weekly against the standard project scope and current capacity. If selected, we contact you to confirm the pages, content, and next steps. Applying does not guarantee acceptance or a launch date.
Can I apply before my content is ready?
Yes. Explain what is ready and what is missing. You supply the business content and approved photos, and readiness affects the schedule. Professional copywriting and photography are not included in the standard free build.
Ready for your new website?
New website or rebuild. No required subscription.
You cover your domain and hosting.
