ALREADY HAVE A WEBSITE?

A fresh start for your existing website.

We rebuild selected business websites for free. Keep your domain, with a clear plan for email, forms and bookings before anything changes. Domain and hosting costs stay separate.

Keep what your business relies on.

A domain registration, website host, and email service may be separate accounts—or parts of one package. Moving the website does not automatically move your email or require transferring the domain registration.

For example, a contractor can replace a small brochure site while retaining the domain and existing email provider. That still requires checking DNS records, the current plan, and who has authority to change them.

A rebuild is not an unlimited migration.

The free scope still covers up to five core pages, supplied content, an enquiry form, one revision, and launch help. A large blog archive, shop, property feed, membership, or customer portal needs a separate migration assessment.

We agree on what stays, what is replaced, and what cannot transfer before building. We do not promise to reproduce every platform feature or cancel all your existing costs.

Check these dependencies before changing DNS.

Domain & account control

Identify the registrar, DNS provider, host, and account owner. You must have permission to make changes. Use authorized account invitations where possible; do not put passwords in your application.

Email & DNS

Record existing MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, verification, and other service records. Change only what the website move requires. Test sending and receiving mail; do not assume an email bundle survives cancellation of its hosting plan.

Forms & enquiries

Record where each form sends and stores responses. Test the replacement’s validation, storage, notifications, and spam handling using an identified test response. A successful-looking thank-you screen is not proof of delivery.

Bookings & payments

Inventory booking links, calendars, deposits, payment links, and customer accounts. A simple link to an existing service may be enough; a replacement booking system or data migration is separately scoped.

Content & existing URLs

Keep approved content and image rights, export available data, and record valuable old URLs. Map moved pages to genuinely relevant replacements. Do not send every removed URL to the homepage or silently discard a larger archive.

Launch & cancellation

Review the new site before switching, keep a recoverable backup and rollback plan, and test on the domain after the switch. Cancel an old plan only after its website, email, data, and contractual dependencies are resolved.

What to send with your application.

Your existing public website address and the main problem you want to solve are enough to start. Tell us if you depend on bookings, an online store, a large blog, or live listings. We collect detailed access information only after selection through an appropriate channel.

What optional help can cover after launch ↗

Common rebuild questions.

Can I keep my current host?

Possibly. We check whether it supports the agreed website and deployment before deciding. You can choose a compatible provider; you do not have to purchase hosting from The Free Website Team.

Will everything from Wix, Squarespace, or another builder transfer?

Not necessarily. Design templates, app features, booking records, store data, and member accounts can have platform-specific export or licensing limits. We inventory dependencies and agree on the scope rather than promise an automatic copy.

Will I keep my search rankings?

No ranking outcome is guaranteed. We plan relevant redirects when URLs change, preserve useful content where appropriate, and check indexing after launch. Search visibility can fluctuate during a move.

Who controls the finished site, domain, and content?

Our established offer gives you the finished website. Keep domain and hosting accounts under your control and provide only content you have permission to use. Third-party tools and assets retain their own licenses. Platform and handoff details are agreed before work starts.
